The cottage is a charming stone-built cottage and is located in Axbridge in Somerset. The historic town of Axbridge is a fabulous location for exploring the South West. The Cart House holiday cottage is a grade 2 listed building that has been comprehensively and sympathetically restored in 2017 by the current owner to provide high quality, self-catering, holiday accommodation.
Built in 1778 as accommodation for a cart, two horses and a groom upstairs, the property served during World War One as a coal store and later as a carpenter’s shop and store. Now the spacious three storey stone cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation, is beautifully furnished, boasting stunning, exposed wooden beams and an open, refreshing living area. The cottage makes a wonderfully relaxing base to return to at the end of each adventure-filled day.
