Chew Valley Lakes

Blagdon Lake sits at the foot of the Mendip Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest by Natural England for its wildflower meadows and bird populations. It offers fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout.

Chew Valley Lake is well renowned for its scenic beauty and top quality fly fishing. The size and condition of the trout caught here is second to none and anglers find success using a wide variety of fishing methods and fly patterns making it a popular competition venue. Chew Valley Lake also offers pike fishing in spring and autumn.

Litton Lakes are stocked with the same high quality trout as all our lakes, but with less fishing pressure, many have discovered that a leisurely day’s sport in this intimate and picturesque setting is sheer delight. These smaller 8 and 11 acre lakes offer a leisurely day’s sport in an intimate and picturesque setting for up to six anglers.

Fishing on the Chew Valley Lakes is provided by Bristol Water Fisheries and further details can be found at their website by clicking the link.

Sea Fishing in Somerset

The Bristol Channel provides some of the best shore fishing in the country and the North Somerset coast provides a variety of locations for the angler to take advantage of this. The autumn and early winter fishing is particularly well regarded as large numbers of codling can be taken, as well as the occasional much larger fish with 20lb specimens being recorded most years. Charter boats leave Portishead for sea fishing for cod, bass and skate.
